Barber Crossover
Overview
27 weeks of continuous training is required which will consist of a maximum of 22.5 hrs. per week. There shall be a minimum total accumulation of 600 (clock) hours.
Crossover:
This program is designed to prepare a licensed cosmetologist to start a career in Barbering. The objective is for the cosmetologist to
acquire the history fundamentals, theory, and hands on training to become a licensed barber. At Executive Barber College we prepare
cosmologists for the state barber examination and educate them with knowledge and skills needed to become a professional, licensed
Barber. Full time 32 hours per week / total of 19 weeks, Part time 16 hours per week / total of 37.5 weeks.
A student’s grade is determined by his/her practical, theory, and clinical grades. The practical and clinical grades are
computed daily, and the theory is determined test scores. Students are evaluated on the following grade scale:
Letter Grade: Excellent 90-100, Above Average 80-89, Average 70-79, Below Satisfactory Progress 0-69
Graduation Requirements & Diploma
Will grant a diploma of graduation and Official Transcript of Hours for the applicable course when the student has
successfully completed all phases of study, required tests, practical assignments; passed a final comprehensive written
and practical examination; completed the program of study according to State requirements; completed all exit
paperwork; attended an exit interview and made satisfactory arrangements for payment of all debts owed to the school.

Your Barber Crossover Career Starts Here
With our Barber Crossover Course, a licensed cosmetologist can take an additional 600 hours of training to learn the skills necessary to become licensed in Barbering. Upon graduation and receiving your certificate of completion you will be eligible to take the licensing exam of the Mississippi Board of Barbering Examiners.
Graduation Requirements
Students must compete the 600 hours as designated by the Mississippi State Board of Barber Examiners, complete all assigned credits, all assigned projects, passed all test with an 85 average and, passes pre-state examination.
State Examination
Students must pay a licensing & examination fee of $100.00 in the form of money order or bank draft. The money order or bank draft should be made payable to the Mississippi State Board of Barbering. The state examination consists of practical skills and 2 written academic examinations, a state law test and a National Barbering academic examination.
